A large artificial lake in the Bieszczady Mountains.

It was created in the 1960s by the construction of a dam on the San River. It covers an area of about 22 km² and has a maximum depth of over 70 meters, making it one of the largest and deepest lakes in Poland. The lake is a popular tourist destination, known for its crystal-clear water and picturesque surroundings. It offers many recreational activities, including swimming areas, sailing, fishing, and hiking in the nearby mountains. Along the shores, there are also resorts, campsites, and restaurants.

Solina Dam

One of the biggest attractions, the dam stands 82 meters high and stretches 664 meters long.

Visitors can walk along its crest, which offers beautiful views of the lake. There are also underground tours available inside the dam—very interesting and educational experiences.

Water Sports and Recreation

Sailing, kayaking, pedal boats, and boat cruises—the lake’s calm waters make it ideal for recreational activities.

In Polańczyk, there is a marina offering water equipment rentals. Tourist boat cruises are also available, such as the guided "White Fleet" tours.

PKL Solina Gondola Lift

The gondola lift connects the lower station at Plasza (right by the promenade in Solina) with the upper station on Jawor Mountain. The route is approximately 1.5 km long, and the ride takes about 5–8 minutes.

At Jawor Mountain, there is an observation tower with an open terrace, offering expansive views of the surrounding area.

Fish

From the concrete of the dam (especially on sunny days), large schools of fish can often be seen—both small and really large specimens. Among the most commonly observed species are carp, which can reach impressive sizes of 10–20 kg.
